Yesterday afternoon we had a special class. Our four students from China, Eleven, Ana, Eva and Linda became guest teachers. They showed the students how to write some Chinese letters. We then practiced how to say the words in Chinese. All the students tried very hard and our guest teachers were very helpful to everybody.
The students practised many different Chinese letters.
Children from R.A. Butler Academy also joined the class.
Our four Chinese students were very good teachers.
Some students are really talented!
Ana helped Vova with his work.
We also practised how to say some of the words in Chinese.
It took a lot of practise to get it right.
Everybody was very interested in the different Chinese letters and their meanings.
Yesterday Moreton Hall had some visitors. Thirteen students from R.A. Butler Academy in Saffron Walden joined our classes and activities for the day. The Moreton Hall students enjoyed showing their new friends the school and their work. We hope the students will visit us again soon.
In the afternoon the students joined our daily and weekly activities.
The students worked in teams with students from each school.
The students worked together on class activities.
There was a lot of energy in the classrooms.
The students from the two schools made new friends.
The Moreton Hall students said goodbye to the Saffron Walden students at the end of the day.
CAE celebrates its 40th birthday this year and we have been coming to Moreton Hall in the summer for 22 years so we celebrated with a traditional summer fete. Here are some of the highlights:

In an activity today students tried the ‘egg drop challenge’. Students worked in teams to build something to protect an egg. We then dropped them onto the floor from 2.5 metres and 5 metres. If the egg was not broken the team won many house points. The students tried very hard and everybody was successful!
This team used a lot of newspaper to protect their egg.
The students had very good ideas to protect their eggs.
After the first drop (2.5 metres) we dropped them from the top of the stairs (5 metres).
They used many different things to protect their egg.
The students were excited to see their egg safe.
This team’s egg was okay after a 5 metre drop!
After the drop we cut them open to check the egg inside.
The teams were very proud of their designs.
Some of the designs were really interesting.
The teams supported each other.
After the drop some of the students gave their eggs names.
This week some of the students had an archery class. The teachers name was Ken. He visited the school and taught the students archery. Some of the students were very good at it! We will have more archery next week.
The students had a team archery competition.
Our archery teacher helped all the students.
All the children did very well!
The students had fun and made new friends.
Everybody had the chance to practise.
Hi. My name is Noyemi. I want to tell you what I did yesterday. With my friends, I did a bag painting. I drew a flag, I wrote London and then painted it. We had a break and then I made a monster with the clay. In the evening, we did Scottish dancing.
I am a blogger today!
